Mom, I am so glad that you sent it to the mission office. If you have more to send just keep sending them there. The reason why is because this week I got Emergency Transferred into Bathurst, New Brunswick. The reason why isn't because of me, or my companions, but because of the missionaries that were here. They had some problems while they were here, that caused both of them to get transferred out. It's disappointing, especially because I was really looking forward to my time in Bridgewater. Maybe I'll get back there again before I'm done. Only problem I have is that it's a French speaking area, and I understand and speak no French, while my companion Elder Keaton Gibb understands, and speaks a little, so we're going to be reading the Book of Mormon in French, so that hopefully we can teach the people here in their native tongue for many. Also, Bathurst borders Quebec, that's why there's so many French speakers here. Should be a fun rest of the transfer. White washing twice in one transfer, that doesn't happen to often. The biggest bummer though was that I had just unpacked completely on Monday, then Wednesday I got the call from the assistants that I was going to be transferred
The next transfer is after Christmas, on New Years if I remember correctly! And I don't know if I'll be in the same spot, although I was talking to President Pratt the other day about this random transfer, and he said that I most likely won't be staying after the end of this transfer, though I guess we'll find out when the time comes.
I'll look through the pictures I have and see if there are any that I would like in the Christmas card, and I don't know if I can get the paragraph in today, so you should probably just write it.
Sounds like you're in better shape than you thought. And it sounds like you've had a good week. It's especially cool that you got to meet Dale Webster. Does he read your blog about it?
Nothing else happened for me this week, other than a surprising mid-transfer transfer, and that's it. Sounds like you're doing great as well. Keep on Keepin on!

Transfers
Afton, thank you for that scripture, it really helps you to understand the nature of the Holy Ghost. If it is something that is good, the Holy Ghost will be there, and you will always want him to be there. Continue on in your good works. ANd keep looking for scholarship ideas, you could help Kirkham out with that stuff.
Cora, trust me, you don't even know cold yet. Once you've been in -20 degrees celsius, or colder as happens here, then you can complain. Although, I suppose you're used to it being quite warm, so even a few degrees of change cause it to feel really cold. I really like the quote you sent today, because that is definitely the way to be happier in all things.
Kirkham, The Maritimes are definitely getting colder, as well as the rest of Canada. Snow will soon be here, and then the shoveling will begin. I never did speech and debate, mostly because I probably would've gotten upset over some of the points covered, But I suppose that everyone has those things that they enjoy. I'll try to keep warm however I can, but I know my feet won't go cold anytime soon, those slippers are amazing.
Mom, I'm going to be getting transferred this week. I'll be going to Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. From what i've heard it's a great area, and I'm looking forward to serving there. I'll be serving with Elder Aaron Quinton, and Elder Eric O'Brien. So I'll be a part of a trio. Both Elders are fun guys to be around, so it should be a good transfer. I don't have any stories from this week, but this next one should be interesting, because we're going to be white washing the area. Which means that the three of us going in weren't already there. Also, the Bridgewater Elders don't have an apartment, they have a cabin, with a wood stove, so that should be good for the winter.
It's no fun when everyone gets sick. I'm trying my best to avoid sickness altogether, so hopefully I stay well, and bug free. Hopefully you get better quickly, and you're more able to stay awake during your work. I'm almost out of time for today, so I need to hurry. I don't know the address for Bridgewater, though I'll get it to you sometime during the week maybe. Otherwise just send it to the mission office. And I would like ties(floral?), Garments, and whatever else you think I might like.

Canada Has Been Good
Canada has been good this week. A fair amount of rain, and fall clean-up is happening as well. But it's been a good week. This upcoming week, Elder Perkins will be touring our mission, and it'll be pretty cool to be able to meet him. He's an area of the Seventy over our mission. It is exciting that General Conference is coming up. We actually get transfer letters that day, and Transfers happen later that week, so it'll be an exciting week when that comes up. I actually don't have a lot for this week either, So have a good one! Catch a Wave for me!

My First Branch Ever
This week has been pretty good, although it was transfer week, so we weren't able to get a lot done. It's been a ggod week though. The apartment doesn't have laundry, which sucks:( and now I'll actually have to buy groceries because not a lot of people feed us here, although, who knows that may change while i'm here. Also, I'm in my first branch ever, there were maybe 60 members at church, which is weird. I actually like it though looking out and seeing very few people. There are enough peolpe here for it to be a ward, just not enough are active, so we'll be working on the less actives and the inactives a lot. The area is still pretty good size, and of course we have a car which is a 2013 Subaru Impreza, which is way better than the Chevy Cruze for sure. Surprising news though, one of the mission cars that came up from maine, is unable to cross the border back for reasons unknown, so the biggest area in the mission is now a biking area. It'll be interesting to hear what happens with that situation and how they get it all solved. Also, I've fixed the church laptop at least 5 times now since I got here. There's always a DNS server problem which is an easy fix but it constantly undoes itself. If you happen to know anything that can fix this, then let me know so I can fix it permanently.
The type of ties you make don't really matter, just go with whatever you think that i'd like. I found out that they do actually have butterfingers here. They don't have Heath bars though, no ones even heard of them here. Could you actually send a big bag of fruity pebbles, they don't have them here, and I forgot to have some of the maine guys get some for me before transfers. They absolutely do not have those here. I'll also send some of the candy bars they have here that you can't get in the states to see how that goes. There is also no Baskin Robins here, and most US gift Cards don't work in Canada anyways, so you'll have to use that for yourself :).
Did you ever find the hammock, or did you have no luck with that? If the rooms were thouroughly cleaned then I imagine you might've found a few more things though that I forgot about. Did you find my wallet that I lost last summer?
Fun little thought that my companion and I did yesterday, We tried all that we could to disprove the book of mormon with scriptures from all works. It obviously didn't work, and the bible definitely supports the book of mormon in all points. If someon tries to disprove the book of mormon, with the bible, it can't be done, or with any works for the matter unless they are actually false. There was a guy in New Glasgow who ONLY studied the bible, and found that the LDS church is the only one that has everything and he's actually planning on getting baptized before going back to his country, (Ukraine) so he can teach others, and practice the correct religion.

Strive Towards Christ
Well, I don't have much to say this week other than I'm getting transfered. I'll be going to Truro, NS which is at the very tip of the Bay of Fundy. I'll really get to see the tide change now! I'll be working with Elder Belmonte, who is from the Phillipines, and had to learn english to serve here, so who knows, maybe i'll be among the few that can understand him! That's all that has really happened this week, other than lots of dinner appointments. I'll go from being fed all the time, to being fed only part of the time. I am looking forward to it though, epecially because of the way this ward kind of took me in when I got here. I didn't really have very missionary minded trainers, but the ward helped me out big time to adjust, and to still work hard. It feels like i'll be leaving my home ward again. I really hope that I'm able to come back to this area, not to be fed, but to be able to continue to serve the people.

I know that without Christ, we would have no life after death, and we would not be able to experience eternal families. Build your foundation upon Christ, and you can accomplish all things.

Pepto and Ginger Ale
First, in response to your letters:
Afton, It definitely is not fair that he has his own room now. Maybe you should see if there's any way to stop it from happening. Even now I don't have my own room.
Cora, That's a pretty cool experience, the power of prayer is definitely impressive, and it's amazing what it can do to help you. Continue to pray daily, both morning and night, and you will see the blessings from it.
kirkham, I would never throw hot dogs across the kitchen. That just looks bad, and like I said, connor can be full of it (sometimes). He does have some pretty cool stories, just don't believe everything you hear. Occasionally I would throw them in from the grill, but that's the furthest extent of things. Throwing stuff in hot oil is dangerous, and I have scars to prove it. Just be wise and quick, and you will always benefit. Do not forget to ask Brother RObertson about the list I sent you, and definitely tell me his response. It will probably help you, and it'll be funny to hear about.
Just to let you know, I did get grandmas letter, and I now have a costco card, which will definitely be convenient over this next transfer.
Brief rundown of this past week: Worked in Hampton, Quispamsis, and Rothesay monday thru wednesday, then went on an emergency transfer to St. John, where I stayed thursday thru Monday(today). It had to do with one of the Elders in St. John having some problems with the sisters there, and they should be resolved now. It was a fun week, with some results but not a ton. I got sick the other day, but thankfully I didn't have a fever, and didn't throw up, so I can say that Pepto-Bismol definitely saved the day. We also found out what will be happening this next week with transfers. I will be getting a new Companion, but I will be staying in Hampton. My new companion is Elder Nathan Wanlass, and he's from Utah. He's been out around a year, and seems like a fun guy. so far for transfers i'm 3 for 3 for new companions. Hopefully it'll change though, and i'll start staying with companions longer. That's all I really have for the week, other than a new bit of knowledge that I will carry around with me. Make sure to always have Pepto, and ginger ale, and you'll feel better so much faster. That's all I have for this week, so stay warm!

New Comp

Dear Grandma Jewel,
I had no idea that I am the first great-grandchild to go on a mission. I hope that you are doing well, and that you have the spirit of youth with you! I love you and I have a question for you. Are there any stories that you have or that your parents had that I can write down? In the mission we are doing family history booklets, and a part of them is to keep track of stories from your ancestors. Whatever you have will be great! I love you Grandma!

Tell everyone that I am cold at times, and freezing, but I am trying to fully immerse myself in the work of Heavenly Father, and that brings comfort to me, and It will bring blessings. In other words, I am working for the Lord, and when you're working for the Lord, how can you not be doing good? I like my new companion, he is not annoying whatsoever, and is easy to get along with! Also, we had a new investigator earlier this week, but then she dropped us :( I appreciate your Scriptures!

The only bit of advice I have for you regarding Prom is to mak sure that you are having a good time. I expect pictures, especially because you almost would never wear suits before. Also, If mom and dad allow, I dare you to grow out your hair the entire time I am gone. (except facial hair, keep that down). Also, right now you must always be mission minded. In a few years you could be out here, and remember to not do anything that you'll regret later.

It's not too cold here to lock the car. We almost always lock the car to stay safe. Also, if it's -40 outside, then we'd have to worry about our car freezing, otherwise it should be fine. The mission has been good to me. My first companion went home, I got my next companion Elder Cox, and I stayed in the same area. Elder Cox is from Mapleton, Utah which is about 15 minutes away from the MTC. I am not the designated driver anymore, but that's just because my companion can drive.
It hasn't been too cold, and we've been working as hard as we can. We had another storm yesterday, and because of it, church was cancelled. We got a new investigator this week, but then we lost her :( She says she's not quite ready for the commitment, but we'll keep trying to work on her. Other than that I don't have much news. I'm trying my best to stop gaining weight, and the mission has an exercise program where if i'm really determined, I should lose weight, and maybe gain muscle, but probably not.
I still haven't gotten those pictures you sent, but I will for sure let you know when I do. The maritimes are a fun place to be, and I definitely am loving my mission so far. I really want to go to Newfoundland, but maybe I'll end up there someday. Well, that's all I have for now. Congratulations on the play mom, and I hope everyone is doing amazing! Gotta go and do missionary work!(well, after food and a few other things, it is p-day after all).
