Car Accident

Afton, I don't remember that... sorry. But does that mean that you've started watching the Walking dead?

Cora, I can tell you it's definitely not the first time for watching Star Wars altogether, it's pretty fun though. The new Star Wars should be good. I have been good, and i've been enjoying it here. IT's been getting colder, but nonetheless, it's been a good week, and a crazy one at moments.
Kirkham, It's going in Canada, that's how it's going. The weather is getting colder so that's not fun, but we actually got in a wreck this week, so that was definitely different from the norm. Good luck on fixing that bike. Was that one mine? If I remember she should be to short to ride it. Oh well, get it fixed and use it up. It's a good one, and it should last a while.

Mom, The snow stuck around over night, and that's about it. Wish it stayed for longer, but at the same time, i'm glad it didn't because we would have had problems pretty quickly.
I don't know really of any Amanda that went to school with me. Maybe I do, and i'm just forgetting.
I am very much looking forward to the package, but it's not here yet, so i'll let you know when it gets here.
You probably saw what I said to Kirkham and you're probably wondering what wreck I got into? Well, the other day Elder Bate and I were coming back from Stewiacke, and we were driving on the old highway. AS we came around a bend in the road, there was an intersection, and at that intersection was a girl who was considering pulling out on the highway. She would be pulling left and we were planning on going straight. I was driving by the way. There was a line of cars that had stopped to let the girl onto the highway, but I didn't notice that they had stopped. This intersection was immediately after the bend by the way, and the speed limit was 80 KMPH, and that's how fast I was driving. Anyways, the girl goes to pull out, and she had looked our direction before we had come around the bend, so she had no idea we were coming. She starts to slowly pull out, like most drivers do here, but she is going too slow, and then she looks and sees us coming down the highway, and freezes up. ( SHe had only had her license for about a month at this point and had no idea what to do.) we're lass than 50 yards from the intersection, and I go to swerve into the other lane, but there's a line of cars stopped, so I slam on the brakes, but the wheels aren't getting grip, and are sliding, so I try not to T-bone the other car, and barely avoid hitting the line up of cars, but slam into the front of the other car, instantly blowing our tire, bending our rim, snapping the drive-shaft, steering arm, and sway bar, and doing a bunch of other damage to the front passenger side of the car. When the car stops, I immediately jumped out of the car, where some lady that saw it all go down is yelling profanities at the other driver, and I assume that her car was hit, so I ask her if she's okay, and she says yes, and spouts a few more things off. I have no idea what I said or motion to her, but she stops, gets in her car and drives off after finding out that my companion is calling the police. I run over to the girl, and she's fine, but her front end on her car is all smashed up, but she is un-injured thankfully. The Crash was unavoidable, because of ditches on the side of the roads, as well as multiple cars. I was not responsible for the crash, and no one was injured aside from some minor bruising. Both cars had to be towed off scene. Now we are driving a big red van, and my companion is driving until everything is sorted out and they allow me to drive again.
A crazy experience, but it was a good reminder that the Lord is constantly protecting his servants. If the wheel well had broken through, then Elder Bate would have had a broken ankle, foot, and maybe even worse. If the tires had regained traction with the way I had the wheel turned, we would have definitely rolled. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and I'm glad i'm on his side.
THat's all for this week. thanks for the love and support you show for me.
Love You, Elder Dooley

p.s. here's some pictures: (having technical difficulties. Will post pictures later)

Here's the girls car: VW Golf

Another of her car

Me on the phone with 911 reporting the accident, this is after I had walked around the car, but didn't realize the extent of the damage.

On the brighter side here's me stuck in the mud on P-day... No boots were lost in the making of this photo

Keeping Positive

Kirkham, I remember well how long it takes for that school to tell the seniors anything. Just do the stuff ahead of time and work hard if you can. Try not to let Video games distract you though. They may be fun, but remember that there's a time and a place for everything. Keep working hard though, and try to go outside sometime!

Afton, I open my mouth everywhere I go, all I do is talk to people, and hope they'll listen to me. SO you should try it. You've done it before, maybe you can do it again. How's school and all that going for you?

Cora, Awesome that you got a new bike, Try not to destroy this one though, i can't fix it from here, I'm already doing that all the time with bikes here that have been improperly fixed by missionaries that have no clue what they're doing. Won't be able to do that too much longer though, because we got the first snowfall last night!

Mom, Canadian thanksgiving was good. Felt exactly like American thanksgiving, just sooner. We got fed well, and enjoyed it. We went over to the Reye's house for thanksgiving supper. We mostly just talked and ate, and thought of what we were thankful for. It was a good day, and was well enjoyed. The Reye's are a family here in Truro. They're trying to move out west, (Alberta?), but they haven't had any luck with selling their house yet. They're a great family to be around.

I'm looking forward to getting that doughnut mix! I'll just need a glaze recipe to go along with it. Shipping to here varies on time, but I think that it should probably arrive later this week, or beginning of next. What matters is that it'll get here eventually which is what really matters! The Deckers wrote to me a few weeks ago, so I returned the favor because I didn't have their email. It's kind of fun sending home letter, and as soon as I get some fun Cards, i'll probably write a letter home for Christmas or something like that just for fun!

Sucks that Dad got Kidney Stones, now I really hope that I don't get them if it's as bad as he vaguely described, ( I imagined him on his pain med.s while writing to me). It'll pass eventually, I don't think anyone has died of Kidney Stones before.

Elder Bate is definitely a hard worker. He is keeping positive, but still like to have fun. I think that we should have a good transfer together, and we've had several of the same companions, so we're fairly alike I imagine.

Also, I thought that I should let you know that it snowed here last night. It wasn't a very thick layer, and didn't stick to the roads, but that just means that there is more on the way. In Maine, in the bottom of the mission, they had a snow storm the other day, so I imagine that it isn't far behind for us, although we are closer to the water, so it might be avoided for a bit longer. That's all I have for today. I love to hear how everything is going, and have a great week!

Hacked

Afton, I love Halloween, but sadly, I'm not able to dress up for it, or go proselyting on that day, but I'm sure we'll do something for it. I am having fun, but it is still work so it's kinda tough at times, but it's worth it. Your scripture reminds me of a saying we have, "Open you mouth" just talk and the spirit will fill the listeners ears of the truthfulness of the Gospel. Well, as long as you're bearing testimony that is:)

Cora, Everything has been good. I'm pushing on, and trying to do my best as usual.

Kirkham, Maybe you can do your Eagle Project as your senior Project as well. Also, go to all the places you can find with scholarships, and apply to everyone you can, a lot of the time no one will apply for scholarships and you'll get one. That's how I got mine at least. Also, when it comes to school assignments and the likes, do the stuff that's worth the most first, and put the most work into those things, and then just deal with what comes your way. Always be confident in what you can do, and always create time to have fun, and do what you love. It'll help get rid of any stress you have. Never forget to create time to have fun, but also do the work that is needed.

Mom, Not a lot has really happened this week, other than getting my new companion. Elder Bate is a great guy, and knows how to work. He seems like a fun guy, and I think we'll have a good time while serving together. Elder Bate is from Kanab, Utah, and if you don't remember he's 6'9". May seem very big and menacing at first, but he is very soft spoken surprisingly.
Also this week, I found out that my card from the mission was hacked! Someone got access to my card, and several other Elder's Cards, and tried to use them in France for some stuff. It didn't work though, and now I need to wait to get a new card. I'm sure they'll figure out who did it soon enough, because we think we figured out where it happened, (Wendy's), so we're not sure we'll go to the one in Truro now.
Also, it turns out that today is Canadian thanksgiving. I had no idea, and it feels really weird to have thanksgiving today, especially on a monday. Truro has pretty much turned into a ghost town it feel like. But the weather has also been getting colder, and apparently some places in New Brunswick have already gotten snow. Glad I'm not there right now. Anyways, that's all I have for this week, wish I had more, but that just seems to be how it is. Thank you for the Love and support! I love you,
Elder Dooley

Ship Shape

Conference was on saturday and sunday from 1-3 and 5-7 for me, and then Priesthood meeting was on saturday from 9-11. Conference was great, and I noticed several themes: Faith, the atonement, and Enduring through it all. We watched General Conference here at the church, and we had to set everything up for that.
I think from the few notes you have, you skipped one of the best talks, (at least in my opinion), By Quenton L. Cook, where he talked about being, "ship-shape, and Bristol Fashioned". If you couple this with staying on the Old Ship Zion, we can know that no matter what happens to us, we need to be ready for it, and ready to let others help us. AS we remember all that is required of us, we can live up to those requirements, and stay with the church through it all, otherwise letting yourself get, "thrown overboard".
I am not getting transferred, Elder Belmonte is however getting transfered to PEI. My new companion will be Elder Bate who is 6'9" if I remember right, so I will now be the shortest Elder in the New Glasgow district. address is still:
102 Kaulback st. Apt.4
Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada
B2N 3M6

At least that's what it'll be for this transfer. I am doing great. We don't have any investigators right now, but I know that we will soon. Have a great week, I love you, and thank you for your support!
