Loving It More and More

Afton, I don't know what I can do for the weird candy, but I'll see what I can find. This week was not very uneventful for me, just the opposite. Maybe you just need to do more.

Kirkham, that's what they always say, but when people don't hit that, they end up pulling the fastest up. I think you can do it, you just got to push through and keep trying. Good luck on those toes. Remember that bandaging I found the once which was very waterproof, and flexible? you should get some of that, you'll love it for practices and the likes.

Cora, you may be out of black ink, while here, all we have is black ink. That's just a church thing though, not a Canadian thing. here's something for you: ( I thought you might like it)

Mom, This week has been a very good week. We got four new investigators from 2 lessons. And we have a few potentials that we'll be keeping up with. It's so nice to be able to see the effort paying off, and actually having people listen to us, and actually be interested in what we're teaching.
This week is actually going to be a bit crazy as well. We're having a blitz week here's more details for you.

It is going to be a fun and hard week, but it'll be worth it.
Also, I'm not sure how well the Christmas package will be if it's shipped to the office. By that, I mean that I have no idea if I'll get it from them before Christmas. If you've shipped already, I'm sure it'll be fine, but if you haven't, try to send it to

We live at a members place, so It'll be fine.
So like I said, we've been doing great, I can definitely tell that my testimony is growing, and I'm loving my mission more and more. I have been feeling more so recently that I am definitely helping to build the kingdom. It's a really good feeling of confidence, and increased faith and dedication, and it's just great. We do get to go to the temple every now and then, though at times I wish that we could go more often. We are having another conference on December 17th, which will be a day full of activities. We actually had one this past week, but the next one will be a follow-up to this Blitz week, as well as a Christmas thing for us. It'll be fun

I almost forgot, this week we were also in a parade. It was fun, and we got to talk to a lot of people. There were at least 2 thousand people watching, but it was nice. For the Ward's float they did a nativity scene with real sheep and chickens. They hope the for next year they can get some cattle as well. Overall, it's been a pretty fun week.
That's all I have for now. Have a great week!

Transfers

Afton, thank you for that scripture, it really helps you to understand the nature of the Holy Ghost. If it is something that is good, the Holy Ghost will be there, and you will always want him to be there. Continue on in your good works. ANd keep looking for scholarship ideas, you could help Kirkham out with that stuff.

Cora, trust me, you don't even know cold yet. Once you've been in -20 degrees celsius, or colder as happens here, then you can complain. Although, I suppose you're used to it being quite warm, so even a few degrees of change cause it to feel really cold. I really like the quote you sent today, because that is definitely the way to be happier in all things.

Kirkham, The Maritimes are definitely getting colder, as well as the rest of Canada. Snow will soon be here, and then the shoveling will begin. I never did speech and debate, mostly because I probably would've gotten upset over some of the points covered, But I suppose that everyone has those things that they enjoy. I'll try to keep warm however I can, but I know my feet won't go cold anytime soon, those slippers are amazing.

Mom, I'm going to be getting transferred this week. I'll be going to Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. From what i've heard it's a great area, and I'm looking forward to serving there. I'll be serving with Elder Aaron Quinton, and Elder Eric O'Brien. So I'll be a part of a trio. Both Elders are fun guys to be around, so it should be a good transfer. I don't have any stories from this week, but this next one should be interesting, because we're going to be white washing the area. Which means that the three of us going in weren't already there. Also, the Bridgewater Elders don't have an apartment, they have a cabin, with a wood stove, so that should be good for the winter.

It's no fun when everyone gets sick. I'm trying my best to avoid sickness altogether, so hopefully I stay well, and bug free. Hopefully you get better quickly, and you're more able to stay awake during your work. I'm almost out of time for today, so I need to hurry. I don't know the address for Bridgewater, though I'll get it to you sometime during the week maybe. Otherwise just send it to the mission office. And I would like ties(floral?), Garments, and whatever else you think I might like.

I love you, have a great week!

Yet In My Dreams

Afton, I have been doing well, and trying to have fun while working at the same time. It is weird how quickly the time goes. before you know it, i'll be back, unless I start thinking about home, then it'll take forever, so don't make me trunky!

Kirkham, quit your whining. A little exercise in the morning is good for you, if you were to slow down a bit, then you wouldn't sweat as much. and congrats on getting un-sick :)

Cora, Kirkham probably got you sick, so you should make him feel bad for doing that to you. I'm sure you did a great job in the presentation, although you probably shouldn't have been messing around, people probably noticed, at least you had fun though!

Mom, since it snowed last, it hasn't snowed again. Kind of obvious, but we haven't seen any more since what we saw a few weeks ago. It won't be long until it starts though, I think i'll be more ready for it this time though.
The service we've been doing has been raking leaves, mowing, yard clean-up, stacking wood in basements, and helping out at the long-term care facility here. All are fun, and we have even more coming up soon, maybe even help building a deck. We have not had any new adventures recently, we'll try to do something today, but we need to do some stuff to get our car ready for a parade next weekend. We'll be pulling a trailer with stuff on it. It should help people see us out in the community like normal people having fun! The new church policy hasn't brought any negative attention to us yet, maybe people haven't heard about it here, and hopefully it stays that way for a while.

We still don't have anyone that we're teaching, though we are trying to find some. They'll come, it just takes some time usually. I had a spiritual experience though this week in sacrament meeting yesterday. I was conducting the music like I usually do, and we were singing Nearer my God to me. As I was leading the music into the end of verse two, the spirit hit me at the words "yet in my dreams i'd be nearer my God to thee" and the words just stood out from that moment on, and I realized after sitting down after the song, that often times we can only dream of being close to God's perfectness, due to the mistakes we make, but as we try to make the changes in our lives that bring us more in harmony with the path the savior provides us with, we will be guided, and we will be strengthened. No matter what has been done, and no matter how far gone you may think you are, you can always go back, and look for the path of peace. It may be hard to find at first, but as you try to get there, you will find it, and you can be forgiven of all you've done. Never give up, keep going, lift your head up, and you will make it through eventually.

That's all I have for this week. Thank you for you love and support!
Love you, Elder Dooley

Sore

Afton,  Don't worry though, i'm not sore at all. The crash was more than a week ago, so i'm good now. I guess you did find something to do, so what were you for halloween? Get a lot of candy?

Cora, I am doing well, The car crash was very shocking, but no one was hurt, so not as shocking as it could have been. I did not hand out candy at halloween, though i'm sure that if someone came to our door, then we might have given them something. Not much is really happening here, just trying the best we can to stay busy and find someone to teach.

Kirkham, It sucks that you were sick for Halloween, sounds like what happened to me a few years ago. Hope you get better quickly, and maybe Afton and Cora will share with you.

Mom,
Before anything else, I want to wish you a day late happy birthday! I would've sent something, but I couldn't find the time to do much. Thank you for all that you have done for me and the support that you have given me. I'm not really sure where I would be without a Mom as great as you. Thank you for all you've done for me, and all you do to help everyone.
I have been doing well this week. There wasn't really much to recover from other than the initial shock of it, and that's it. I'm not driving yet, though for the first few days after the accident I was driving, so I should be good. I'll need to call the Vehicle coordinator about when I can start driving again. I think it might just be until fault is fully established, and damage is paid for. But from what we've heard the other driver is at fault, so I should be able to drive again fairly soon.

I have a book that i'll send home soon that's about the history of the church in the pacific and it has a section about Laie, so i'll send that home when I finish with it. It's pretty neat being able to learn more about the history of the church in different regions.

There is another verse in Deuteronomy that would actually be beneficial as well, when Aaron is no longer worthy of his calling, and his garments were stripped of him, and given to his son. Another way to think of this would actually have to do with the priesthood. We wear Garments to represent the priesthood in our lives, and to protect of us from the dangers of the world, so I think that the garments they wear as priests in the Old testament are in fact the garments of the priesthood, or the power of God. They didn't have the names for the priesthood then as we do today, so they were given symbols to learn from. My clothes for me provide protection from the cold and the wind, and when the weather gets worse, I wear heavier clothing that provides more protection. Another thing my clothes do for me is set me apart from the masses, and I am easily identifiable to everyone. I want to look dignified like I know what I'm doing,(don't really know what i'm doing though), so that people will listen to me and to what I have to say.
That's all I have for this week, Love you, and stay safe!!
